"DFA" box issues with Commish Portal autosim ("Execute" button) and "40 Man Roster" settings

"Designated For Assignment" issues with Commish Portal autosim ("Execute" button) and "40 Man Roster" setting
I am putting what might be multiple issues in one thread as I believe they are related.

OOTP 2007 game version: 2.0.2
League type: Online, converted from OOTP3/OOTP4/OOTP6/OOTP6/OOTP6.5
General description of issues:
1. When using the Commish Portal autosim (AKA "Execute!" button), the sim will not stop when "Designated For Assignment" (DFA) players are about to be released. As a result teams that just signed or traded for players might have their players released shortly afterward. *Note that players are released by the game even if the "release DFA players after x days" box is unchecked.* This issue was discussed in some detail here .

2. When the "40 Man Rosters" league option is disabled you are not able to adjust the number of default days to release players in the "Designated For Assignment" (DFA) box. The default DFA release setting appears to be 10 days, so if you sim 2 weeks at a time, many newly traded players and newly signed free agents will be released during the same sim they join their new team (if using the Commish Portal autosim button mentioned in issue #1).

If you use the "sim to a date" drop down method of simming the game will stop when DFA players are about to be released, but this is still far from perfect as it requires very arduous Commish admin tasks since most teams 25 man rosters will be full, and many of the new players (as well as the current 25 man roster players) will refuse to go to the minor leagues. In some cases this requires a league Commish to actually release 25 man roster players or allow his newly signed/traded-for player(s) to be released by the game. Needless to say, online league owners are not thrilled when their Commish decides what players they will release from their active roster.

When a league enables the "40 Man Rosters" league option then you can delay the DFA issue described above by 21 days, but even this is far from perfect as owners in leagues that run 2 week sims would only have 1 sim to assign their player before the game releases the player or the Commish has to intrude and manually set up a teams rosters to deal with the DFA box).

My current work arounds:
1. The work around solution to issue #1 would be to not use the Commish Portal autosim feature until it has been changed so that DFA players are not released by the game unless the "release DFA box after x days" is checked off. You can use the "sim to a date" drop down method of simming the game instead.
2. The work around is simply to always enable the "40 Man Rosters" league option for your league, whether you want to use that feature or not:-).

If you need further info or details please respond in this thread or PM me. Thanks.

This has been claimed fixed for the third patch. If after installing the as-yet unreleased patch you continue to have trouble with this issue, please post as such in Tech Support along with the TT number listed above.
