Help needed resolving this
In the Dog Days on-line league, a team has managed to get a couple players "doubled' on his roster:
![]() The question is how to fix this without creating other problems. Any advice from those in the know? History: 1) Both players were reported to me as being on the major league roster but not on the 40 man roster -- and thus eligible for the rule 5 draft. 2) As commish, I moved both players onto the 40 man roster. 3) Possibly due to an export from the owner, the team ended up with two copies of each player.

Anyone?
To add a little info, it turns out that both copies of the player retain the same d number in the game, and it is impossible to to place the player in the lineup twice. Further, the salary is not paid twice.

Have you tried exporting the rosters to a text file, editing the text file and re-importing ? Game setup\League setup\Functions\Import/Export Functions. I'm not the expert in this area but i wanted you to get some kind of response. Make sure you make a backup copy before doing anything though.

In the end, here is what worked (at least for now):
I went into the editor and edited both players onto another team, then edited them back to the right team. Duplicates appear to be gone. Let's hope they stay gone!

If you're interested in diagnosing the problem further, I think an export, as tycobbler suggests, would be the next step. I have once seen a duplicated player in the export- there were two rows, both with the same player name and player id- and in the game, the player had two separate rows of stats for the same season. It seemed related to the unretire bug people have brought up previously, though in my game the player had never retired. |

Thanks to both of you. If the problem recurs, this will give me a way to work on it, and, in the meantime, a good bit of info to have on the boards for others who may run into the same sort of thing.

Beorn, is there anything else that you'd like to do with this one now, or should we close it out?
