Looking at Players Crash

I have another wierd error/crash. It looks like the game can't find any of the players. I can load up the game, look at standing, look at teams home pages. If I try to look at players or at pitching/batting pages the game crashes.

Any ideas?

rlow is this from a newly formed league; one that you're attempting to start or did this happen during the season at some point ?

Are you using a specific database or a league you created on your own ?

Is faceGen enabled ?

If it's a newly started league try going to Game Setup\League Set up and scroll down to Roster Functions. Click on fill teams with fictional players. This should resolve that problem. You may or may not have to disable FaceGen if your PC cannot handle it. If so under Game select OOTP Preferences and disable FaceGen. First however try FaceGen in Troubleshoot mode if it's currently in Standard mode. You'll have to close out and restart the game if you make this change so it takes effect.

If you're using a database, make sure that the database path is set accordingly. Game Set up\Rules Database path. Create a path to where you have your database on your pc in the space provided. This should be done before you start your league otherwise you'll have to wait for season 2 for them to import. Just don't forget to check the box that says automatically import historical rookies for this to work.

It was a fictional league at or about July 5th. I was heading into the all star game. I finally gave up on trying to restore the file, and loaded a backup I had from May

....

Rlow, have you seen this issue reoccur? Is there anything else that we can do for you on this one, or should we close it out for now?

I could send you the old dat files, but I reloaded from an old backup in order to play.

If the old files don't have the error in them, then there's likely no purpose. I'll close this thread out now, but if you have the problem again, please post in Tech Support along with a link to this thread.
