Game crash at Manager home page

I am running OOTP 2007 version 2.02 on a PC. I am playing in a historical league {Sparky League} and have encountered a problem.

Whenever I try to access the Manager- Home page or the Manager - News Page the game crashes, no error message, just a crash. I seem to be the only one in the league with t his problem and it affects not only the game in the online league, but also when I run run a solo league.

I've taken the following steps:

Unlicensed, uninstalled and reinstalled the game
Deleted the sparky.lg file and folder and reinstalled.
Run two different virus scans with no result.
Eliminated all contents of local settings temp folder

It is rather frustrating since I cannot export the league file or get updated league file unless I download the zip file new every time.

Play the game in windows, keep the 350 pg. game guide open as well. It will be easier to learn the game that way.
