Need help with this error message
Quote:
EDIT: I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling both the game (with the latest patch) and the roster set, and I'm still getting the same error message. EDIT: This error message also appears when I try to start a new game, so the problem must be with the game itself, not with the roster set. Last edited by DiMaggio5CF; 11-05-2007 at 03:23 PM. |

When did this start happening? Did you do anything unusual? Was it right after installing a patch?

I just bought the game.
I downloaded it and bought it. I downloaded the roster set and put it in the saved_game folder. I tried to load the saved game, and when it got to "finalizing" it crashed. Then I tried to start a new game, and it crashed right away. Basically, it won't let me do anything. I just downloaded the game. I tried it with and without the new patch. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling it. And I keep getting the same error. |

Hrm. That's very odd. Could you please give us a basic rundown of your computer specs? Operating system, graphics card, processor, hard drive space (total and available), and RAM?

Furthermore, do you have a directory at Documents and Settings\(username)\My Documents\Sports Interactive\OOTP Baseball 2007\data\database\nation_flags? Is it filled with a whole bunch of PNG images?

I have all the other folders you mentioned to get there, but I have no folder named nation_flags. I have a "nations" file in the database folder, but it's just a text file with a list of nations and some numbers. |

I think my operating system is Windows XP (it is Windows XP, I just don't know if that's what you mean by operating system). According to the properties tab on my C drive, I have 48.3 GB free space, compared to 25.9 GB used space. I have no idea how to check my graphics card, processor, or RAM. I think, though, that if I can get that nations_flag folder as you mentioned in the previous post, I should be good to go. Like I said, I reinstalled the game two or three times and didn't change anything except adding a league to the saved_game folder; I don't know why I wouldn't have it. And thank you very much for the help. It's very much appreciated. Last edited by DiMaggio5CF; 11-06-2007 at 10:18 PM. |

Yeah, it sounds like that missing folder is your problem. I have no idea why it wouldn't simply be installed along with the rest of your game. I suppose that you can just get a copy of the folder from someone, throw it in the right place, and be good to go.
Do you have AIM? My user name is the same there as here. I can send the folder to you - it is quite small. |

I have no idea why it wasn't creating during installation, but I sent him the folder and everything started working fine. Closing this out now.
