waiver claims bypassing DFA

This has come up recently for me in NABA, a league that I cat as commissioner in. I don't know that it happens all of the time or not.

Players are being claimed on waivers, being assigned to the new clubs and immediately hitting the major league roster. Because of this, when I am simming out my regular week's worth of games, I get an error message indicating a team has an illegal amount of players.

We are in Season 2, I don't recall this happening at all during Season 1.

I did a search on the board and did not see a similar issue.

I don;t usually send items to Tech Support so please advise if you need any additional information. (the league site is linked to my sig if that helps)

This was reported and addressed, but unfortunately is only included in OOTP 8. Instead of sending players claimed off waivers to the active roster, they will now be sent to DFA.

If you don't get OOTP 8, I believe that an easy workaround is to adjust your waiver times so that players are assigned to teams on the last day of your sim, thus allowing your GMs the chance to settle their roster during their next export.

Is there anything else that I can help you with regarding this matter?

If as commissioner, I run my league with OOTP 8, then this should correct the issue of the entire league, correct?

Just jumping in here so I'm clear on what you're saying. If our league's sims are 8 days in length, would 16 days be the appropriate length to set waiver time to (giving one sim for owners to put in a claim and then assigning them to the claiming team's roster at the end of the 2nd sim)?

From what I understand, yes.

You know, I think so, but you might want to test it out just to be sure. I don't know if 15 or 17 days would be appropriate since I'm not exactly sure when the waiver time counter begins and ends.

Yeah, this is just a horrid bug. It is new! I swear the game did not used to behave this way. I'm now down 2.2 million dollars from a slew of minor leaguers I claimed being converted to ML contracts. I'm at the mercy of my commissioner to do something about it.

No your proposal is wrong. Here is why. The computer waives players ANY DAY OF THE WEEK, not just on the one waiver day. If there are any computer run teams your plan won't work 100%.

Yes, if you are running computer controlled teams in your league and don't have OOTP 8, you will have this problem.

As this thread has gone more than a week without a reply, it will be closed for housekeeping reasons. If you need any further assistance with this issue, please post in Tech Support. Thanks.
