This is a 2008 crash (I had 2007 and it never crashed on me).
When the game first came out, I started with "New Major League Game". I played every game myself for one team (no online league, no other players, just me). After about a month of played games it crashed on me and I couldn't progress to the next day. So, I restarted thinking it was a fluke. I started another Major League game and am currently stuck on June 19th. The game crashed on June 17th after I tried to make a trade. Fortunately I had just made a backup, so I restored. Every time I made this one particular trade, if I then tried to save the game it crashed. So I decided to just sim that day (Finish Today) and it got past that day. The 18th I made the trade and no crash, saved the game and no crash. Advanced to the 19th and tried to play today's game, and it crashes every time. If I try to so much as Review My Roster, it crashes. If I try to play today's game, it crashes. I went out and got the .13 .exe and it still crashes. I'm happy to send my league files to anyone who wants to run the debugger on them. This is (obviously) hugely frustrating. I can restore to the 17th because that's when I did my backup, but I'm certain I'm just going to run into more crashes as I play forward. This is so disappointing being that when I ran 2007 it never crashed on me. Is this a known issue with the Major League game? -Chris |

Since v8 and v2007 are the same game, virtually, you should go back to v2007. I'm lucky enough to have no crashes in either version.

the fact that this many people have the same issues and there is no direct support is terrible.

Out of curiosity, do you still have OOTP 2007 installed? Will your crashing MLB leagues run on it? |

I have both 2007 and 2008 and do not have the crashes
Yet my brother purchased 2008 and he crashes every way he creates a league, and sometime crashes before it even get created completely. and he is not allowed to post to forums, without a moderators approval first for every post, thus is why I am posting I understand the game works on many machines, but I still think the product deserves some tech support though My brother's machine is less than one month old, is a rather fast computer (do not have specs in front of me) and one of the top of the line video cards, yet he crashes and crashes I am wondering if it is not his video card that is causing the crashes, even with one of the top cards available he has all patches, OOTP, XP, and video card drivers He would really like to find a solution. open to ideas |

I am trying to provide Tech Support for ChrisHolmesOnline's problems here in this thread. Is he your brother, bryanfarris?
If not, please start a new thread where we can discuss your brother's issues. It sounds as if he is having an entirely different problem. |

I haven't created any other leagues with the .13 EXE. I could give that a try and sim some games to see what happens. I did managed to get my current game to advance by clicking "Finish Today" and not playing that day's game (just letting the game sim it essentially). I also had to not make the trade and then make it a day later. It's really weird stuff; it all seems to be centered around Clay Bucholz. He was one of two players I got from Boston in a trade, and when I made the trade then the game crashed when trying to save. So I forward a day and make some minor league roster moves (that include him) and it crashes again. What I've done up to this point is backup that day when the crashes were occurring, and I'm pretty sure if I restore that game it will crash for anyone else. What sucks is that now I'm paranoid about every little roster change or trade causing a crash, so I'm saving the game like mad, and that's not a fun way to play. Also, I don't want this thread to turn into a bash fest. I'm a programmer; I know what it is like to work on a big application with limited resources. It is my understanding that this is a very small programming team (one guy?). And this really is the best baseball sim on the market. I just wish there was a way for my save game files to be of use to the developers for tracking down and fixing problems. -Chris |

As this thread has gone a week without a reply, it will now be closed for housekeeping reasons. If you need any further help with this matter, please don't hesitate to post a link to this thread in Tech Support and we will try to help you figure things out. Thanks.
