"Shop a Player" stopped working

Hi guys - first post. Been playing OOTP since version 7 was released, and I love it.

Just started playing a new single-player fictional league in OOTP 2008 - nothing fancy, two U.S. leagues of 20 teams total. I am in Commisioner mode, but playing mostly as the GM of a single team (and I did take the job, not just using "Act As.")

About a month into the first season, I can't "Shop a Player" any more - it says I can't shop any more today, even though I haven't shopped any that day. Advancing to the next day doesn't fix it. Shop a Player worked fine for the first week or so of the season, and I never had a problem with it in 2007, just in 8.

Any thoughts? I play out every game. Shop a Player stopped working right around the time I upped the resolution to match my desktop, but I can't imagine that's the problem (though I suppose I can go size it back down and check...)

I found a workaround for this, if anyone else hits the same problem. I made a Quick Start file out of my current game, and started a new game using the Quick Start. Shop Player worked fine again.

Bit of a pain to sit there waiting ten minutes to generate it, so hopefully I don't have to do this again, but it works.
