BZ 1427: 4 OOTP9 Issues
I have played (or tried to play) 2 exhibition games. I found these issues...
1. Minor League teams could not be set to play exhibition games. 2. Could not drag players to a different location in the ballpark. 3. Information regarding "Ball Location" was missing from the manual. 4. Could not substitute for a tiring pitcher (dragging was unsuccessful). 5. In 2nd exhibition game, (in the pregame screen) could not play because there was no pitcher slot to put in the visiting pitcher. Hope this is useful.

You can even play a major league team vs. a minor league team. Just choose the Major League in the left dropdown, and you'll see the major league teams listed. Leave the left dropdown blank, and you'll see the current minors. Quote:

I don't believe I've ever seen something like that before! Did you get a screen shot of it?

Don't know if this is the reason, but you can move them around when they are the graphic including ratings, if its just the name text they can't be moved.

One thought that I had was that I suspect that while I was still inside the Edit Ballpark module, I went directly to setup an exhibition game. Perhaps when I failed to exit the edit module completely, I was unable to reset the positions - and this caused the situation to just seem intermittent.

I continue to have massive problems trying to rearrange players during a game. While it would definitely be an improvement to be able to adjust the small text locations (they are not very well assigned relative to the graphic display), the problem that I am focused on is trying to move the graphic players (with ratings). For a while I was able to move them, now it has completely frozen.
For what it's worth, when I try to drag the player I can drag the text (as normal) but when I release the button everything is as it was originally.

I may have identified the cause of the frozen players. The screen resolution that I use is 1152x864, and I play in "windowed" mode. Sometimes I am unable to adjust player positions during a game. When I switched to Full Screen I was able to move the players. When I switched back to windowed mode they were frozen again. The ballpark graphic that I am using is 820x615.
Hope this helps.

Frozen Player Addendum
I am no longer playing Exhibition games and am now playing pre-season games. I note that, after about 5 games, in all the pre=season games I have played, I have been able to move the players around. Maybe this issue is tied to the resolution (as mentioned previously) and the exhibition module. Hope this helps.

Cannot change Player postion in pre-game line-up or change starting pitcher
I have just completed the update to OOTP 9 by doing a complete uninstall and re-install. I have a few issues.
1. On the Manager's home screen, I put in my name and birthdate and options (commissioner mode and select Cleveland Indians as my team). The manager name does not change, nor are my options kept. 2. When I go to play an Exhibition game, I cannot change any players in my pre-game line-up, cannot move players around in my line-up, cannot choose another starting pitcher, cannot warm up a pitcher in-game or replace a pitcher in-game (depending on the option), or make any substitutions in-game. I am playing in Commissioner mode, so I should be able to do all of the above. Your assistance would be appreciated with the above. |

This issue was claimed fixed for the upcoming patch. If you still have trouble with this matter after patching, please post a link to this thread along with a detailed explanation of what happened and we will re-open this report. Thanks.
