Yes it seems to happen more often on quitting/saving, but I have had it happen once to a regular save without the quit. |

It's just a mistery to me why this hasn't even garnered a comment from Markus or Battist or someone on the inside. Perhaps we are just looked on as whiners and complainers. I guess the game runs without problems for them.

The only input I have gotten was to upload to the FTP site, which I have done 2 or 3 times now. I have never gotten a response to it. One of my uploads was from a backup file from a league that would crash every single time just 1 day later. Even a restore from this backup would cause the messages.dat to fry. So they do have evidence of a repeatable crash with only a 1 day change in the game. I expected to hear back on that one, to this day I have not.

Okay, I have solved one problem.
When you load the new patch, the game creates a new set of folders. The league that you had open at the time you last closed the game will be given a folder with its name, but the new folder will contain little or nothing. (Indeed, if you try to open a saved league, you won't find anything listed but the last league that you had open.) In the game preferences, you have to designate your old data folder.

Before you copy and paste any .dat files from other leagues, be sure to save a copy of your original file. Otherwise you will lose any changes you made to that data set. And if the problem turns out to lie elsewhere, you will be screwed.
Make sure that your original data folder is specified in the game preferences after loading any new patch.

Doug, my bet is that the reason you have not gotten a responce is because they don't have a clue what might cause this or how to fix it. |

Yea I figure maybe they have no idea, but for this issue to not even be a logged problem is a real concern. It makes the game unplayable and thus should be a priority over a typo in a canned trade message or the play by play showing a hit is to left when it really is to right, neither of those problems break the game.

Guys, please redownload and reinstall version 9.1.2 if you are having these sorts of problems. There was an issue with the first set of files uploaded.
Kckid4u, please let us know if this solves your problem. |
