Game locks up when...

...I play in a few online games and whenever I click on, "review draft class," it locks up my whole computer. I don't know if I have some missing files in game application now or not. I was cleaning out hard drive, so always chance I messed up and did that. My main question is. I don't have the email for the game when I bought it. I thought I remember there being a registration number of some sort. Is there anyway I can re-install the game without the worry of losing it all together? I tried dowloading file from website, like you do when you update it, but that didn't work. I tried deleting the files of the leagues I'm in and reinstalling them, but still had the same problem. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

In your OOTP 9 directory there should be a file called either licence.txt or receipt.txt and in there should be your order ID.

I'd take a note of it, although the game does seem to remember the details even if you uninstall and reinstall.

It should be in C:\Program Files\Out of the Park Developments\OOTP Baseball 9

it's called receipt.txt and contains the following

Quote:
Out of the Park Baseball 9.0
SKU: OOTP90
Out of the Park Developments

,

Order ID: VT-omitted for security purposes
License Date: Wednesday, April 02, 2008
License Number: 1/2

Andreas Raht says:
yes it should be in the key file.
open console window
cd "Users/his name/.Out of the Park Developments/OOTP Baseball 9/data/config"
Andreas Raht says:
ls
Andreas Raht says:
then open the key file with vi <name of the file>
Andreas Raht says:
note the dot in the path, it's important

I'll do that. Also, the game locks up whenever I click anything in the transactions menu on the manager home screen. I'll email him. Thanks.

Do you know how long it takes to usually get that info? The reason I'm asking is I'm holding up a couple of drafts right now in two online leagues, so i was curious if you think I'll be able to get it today? Thanks. Peace.

Also, it locks up after I try any tab in the "transactions" section while on the main manager page.

It sounds as if you may have some memory problems when asking OOTP to reference larger lists of players. How much RAM does your computer have?

I have 6 gigs of memory left, 2 gigs of ram. Still waiting for the purchase info , so i can re install. I don't have a memory problem. Comp says it's fine. Ran Final Cut Pro which is a large video editing program and i didn't have any problem at all. Still have 2 drafts I'm holding up in two leagues , so if I seem impatient that is why. Still waiting to here any kind of word since last moderator response and haven't heard from the person i was told to email in this thread. Thanks. Peace.

Andreas is based in Germany so his hours of operation are usually around 7am - 6pm or so UST, so hopefully you should hear from him this morning if he's up and about

As there has been no further update from the original poster in the last two weeks this thread will be closed for housekeeping purposes. Should the problem still persist, feel free to start a new thread and link back to this one.
