PC: Game Freezes Repeatedly

Version: 9.22
PC/MAC: PC

What happened? I am in the offseason but cannot get past November 4th. Every time I try to move to the next day the game freezes and I have to terminate the application.

Reproducible? Yes, I've tried opening the program back up a few times and it continues to happen. I've also tried restarting my computer.
Has anyone else come across something like this or know of a possible solution? I appreciate any help you can give me.

Check Rosters for too many players. Though it should give you a message.

Unhappy

That doesn't seem to fix it. This sure is frustrating. Any other suggestions?

Is anything showing in the league events for November 4th or November 5th? You should be able to see this under the simulate menu (the one with the baseball)

Again!

So now I am having the same problem on a different computer. It is XP instead of Vista (which I was using before) and it is an entirely different game, not one that I copied.
The problem is a little bit different in that it happens whenever I try to simulate ahead more than one day at a time. It also happens if I try to simulate more than two days quickly.
What the heck is going on?

Angry Frustrated

Can I really be the only one having problems with the game freezing? Now I am stuck on 10/21. This is just so frustrating, especially when it has happened on two different computers running two different operating systems! I'd hate to have to ask for my money back and return to OOTP 8, but I don't see any other choice. If the game won't run then I can't play it.

How much RAM does each computer have? Have you tried any of the following suggestions:

I'll try some of those things, but the problem doesn't relate to RAM. My desktop has 4 GB and my laptop has 1.5 GB.

It would depend upon just how large your game universe is and how much history it has. If you create a large enough and old enough league with enough details saved, RAM will eventually be a problem no matter how much of it you have.

In both occasions I was at the end of my first year and changed the detail settings from 'very high' to 'high'. You're talking about older leagues that have played many more seasons, correct?

I tried reinstalling on my computer running Vista and played the first season. Then I got stuck again in the offseason on a particular day and could go no further. This is ridiculous.

In general, yes. How many teams and leagues are you using in your universe?

I have been running leagues with all of the MLB teams and a full minor league system.

When you created your league, did you make any changes to ANY of the default settings? If so, what did you change?

I appreciate everybody's attempts to help but I've just decided to give OOTP a break for a while. Maybe I'll luck out when I return to it. Again, thanks to everyone.
