The 60 Day DL & The Rule 5 Draft
Are players who are on the 60 day DL exposed in the Rule 5 Draft? After all, when you place them on the 60 day DL, they are removed from the 40 man roster.

I am pretty sure the answer is NO
They are removed from the 60 day list because they are not accruing ML service time, and so you can replace them during the injury. They can't really be moved anywhere because they are injured. I assume since they cannot be traded or demoted, they also cannot be drafted to another team. This question brought to mind another question though... Are players on DFA eligible for the rule 5 draft? It seems to me they might not be in the rule 5 draft due to their not being on a specific roster when the draft takes place, but this could be exploitable, so hopefully the answer on this one is YES. |

Thanks for the response. I believe you're right about injured players. I'd agree that the answer to your question is probably yes, they can be drafted.
