Seamheads League Launching Soon!

Gentlemen (and ladies),

Some of you are already familiar with the league we'll be running at Seamheads.com, thanks to Marcus' mention of it in his newsletter, and I'm happy to announce that Opening Day is scheduled for Monday, January 26. As of this moment, all of the 40-man rosters have been finalized, but the depth charts, starting rotations, and line-ups have not. What you'll see when you peruse the league files are decisions made by the sim's AI with some additional tweaking by me. Some of the rotations/line-ups (Expos and Cubs) have been finalized by their owners (Jonah Keri and David Laurila), while others are in the works. Some will probably remain as they are with some minor tweaking here and there. I don't expect all of the team owners to participate throughout the season, as I have a feeling some of them only wanted to submit 40-man rosters, then let us handle the rest, and that's okay. I'm sure some of them are busy and have other things to do.

So, that being the case, I'm open to suggestions. If you think a line-up needs to be tweaked (assuming that particular owner is no longer actively participating), let me know. I can't promise I'll make the move you suggest (I'm sure we won't always see eye-to-eye), but I promise I'll take it into consideration. I've been studying baseball all my life, but I'm not arrogant enough to believe I know everything and a fresh perspective is always welcome.

I'll keep everyone posted and let you know which owners are active and which aren't. The teams that end up rudderless may need some guidance along the way. I also remember there were some questions earlier about the league set up, so please ask them again and I'll provide whatever information you want about the league. Who knows, I may need to tweak the settings according to your recommendations as well. I've been playing OOTP since it was first released, but I have little experience with version 9 (you know the adage about old dogs and new tricks? I'm the epitome of that), and I can use all the help I can get.
