Inaugural Draft Player List Empty
I am running v9.2.13. I imported my 6.51a 30-team league. Set the new v9 league up for an inaugural draft. When I go to start round one of the draft, the available player list is empty. After some searching, I found the entire player pool of 1200+ players over in the Free Agent screen. How do I get them into the inaugural draft player pool?
btw... I just spent the last hour searching through these forums, but could not find a solution |

Were the players on teams in your 6.5 league? If so they should have remained there and you'd be able to use the release all players and schedule inaugural draft function.
If the players aren't on teams, I'm not sure how you'd get them onto a draft. Even running the league for a couple of months so that teams sign players won't help because there will still be players remaining unsigned who then can't be released to a new draft in March say.

I figured out how to get around it. I had added some 20-30 players to the player pool after the end of the 2008 season, and I wanted these new players to import into v9. I kept forgetting that I added the new players after the season had ended. So, I loaded the v6.51a 2009 season file with the added players, let the computer run the 25 round draft. Reset the 2009 season. Then, did import into v9. The added players came across too. I used the "release all players and schedule an inaugural draft" option in v9. The 750 players who were on the 30 active rosters were put in the draft pool, the remain 500+ players remained in the free agent pool.
Thanks Tony for the reply and the suggestion. |
