Trading in an online league

I am the commish of a league of friends and AI players

when one of the other humans tries to make a trade it state "YOU ARE NOT THE COMMISH"

I have the enable trades turned on and the ability to trade draft picks

how do all the other humans initiate trades?

You have to do all of the trades as the Commish.

My recommendation would be that you make a section of your forums for confirmed trades and have both owners post the trade in there. Then you just need to choose the "Run As" option and pick one of the two teams to execute the trade.

No, they can't. Most online leagues are all human GMs with no AI GMs. So the GMs typically post "trade blocks" on the forums of the league they're in where they list the players they're willing to trade. Then once the trade is agreed upon, they make a post on the forum about the trade being completed and the Commish does the trade during the next sim. I've never heard of an online league that was part human GMs and part AI GMs.

I'm sure there's plenty, actually. Any league that isn't entirely full, probably has, or should have, the teams set to computer controlled. It might not be ideal, but it's better than being set to human controlled and there being no human to do anything. There's probably even some leagues out there that have foreign or independent leagues that are entirely run by the AI.

I don't really see what that has to do with the topic though.

I think the main reason why it's not allowed and why it's not stupid to prohibit it is because you could easily have someone come join the league twice under different names and if there was no commish to oversee trades it would be a lot easier to cheat. No one wants that. Considering how much the commish had to do / GMs couldn't do in OOTP6 and earlier, I think it's pretty cool that about the only thing GMs can't do now by themselves is trade. We used to have separate boards for everything, waivers, releases, FAs, etc etc and now that section of a forum only has 2 boards: trade block and trades.
