Series starts today. Not one of the 24 experts on ESPN picked the Twins. I understand why but have seen the Twins play fantastic baseball the last month. The starting pitching has stepped but, though the bullpen faded. With NY having the fans, the media, the home field advantage, the players and salary on their side...it'll be a tough series to win.
I can see it happening and I'm hoping it does, but all of the chips (cards?) need to fall in the right places for that to happen. We all need a fantastic series by the AL MVP Joe Mauer. Unfortunately, as I have one of my Master's classes tonight, I will be unable to watch the game live. |

Well, They are facing one of the biggest post-season chokers of all time in Sabathia tonight. God, I hope the Twins win the series

I am hoping the Yankees win. I love Alex Rodriquez and M-Tex. I love Nick Swisher.
I also don't want to see Boston win and I think the Yankees are the best chance at knocking them off. So I am at the "ANYBODY BUT BOSTON" mind set.

I'm in the Twins corner for this series. The Yankees were the bane of my childhood. The White Sox were perpetual bridesmaids back then. The Mets are the only team is despise more than the Yanks.

The Mike and Mike Show (actually Greeny and Buster Olney today) were spinning this as one of the most lopsided matchups in the history of pro sports. They were literally comparing a Twins potential series victory to the Jets winning Super Bowl III and the 1960 Pirates.
I thought that was a little over the top. But that being said, almost anyone in the Yankee lineup would hit cleanup in the Twins lineup. Having witnessed most of the Sabathia's bad pitching in big games, that is certainly a possibility. |
