For something I didn't think I was going to use...

The baseball card maker is aWesome.

Now, if we can just make it so that the XML will output text sideways... well, I guess you could lay out a card that's vertical in front and horizontal in back. I think. Also, I'd like to know what different fonts can be used. The '87 Topps set that I shamelessly copied above utilized that most evil of fonts Comic Sans Bold. I couldn't get the game to use anything but the default font, however.

That card is fantastic, except for the banner with the player name and that drab font, as you said.

Silly question but what is the purpose of the baseball cards? They do look cool!

They don't have career stats so as of now they don't look like much of anything... yet.

Do you know if Markus is considering adding career stats in a possible future patch? Just curious because you said "yet". It almost sounds like you know something...

Steve and Markus have been saying that they aren't done with the card system and that we could expect changes in the future. How near that future will be, well, I don't know, but I could definitely see this being a really cool addition to the game.

From the title I thought this thread was going to be about mass select.

Career stats are really a most for baseball cards.

They are useless without them imo.

So lets hope they include this in a patch soon.

Right, but there are no year by year career stats as of yet. Right now the lack of ability to change fonts that I can see is really what's keeping me from doing the back of the above card (that and not knowing what any of the xml tags are except for the ones that are actually in the game - for example, is there a way to make a font bold? I don't know).

The ability to create baseball cards is a minor feature that some OOTP players will not even use, but I welcome it. IMHO it adds to the immersiveness of the game.

I think a card should also list the player's position. For me, that's important.

I would also like to see a card show the last few years of the player's career, plus his total career stats.

Ideally, in my opinion, we should be able to customize them so that the player's picture and career stats appear on one side. Is this possible now? I don't know. This would be for those of us who want to hang them up in our cubicles at work.

The player graphic that appears in the News section, with the player's picture alongside his stats, has all of the most important information about the player in a neat, compact form. I would love to be able to easily print this out, without having to do a screen save, an image trim, etc.

We should be able to have many templates for the cards and when we go to create the card choose the template we want to use.

Also its annoying when you manually select the all star team that they dont make cards for them.

If we could make cards with this much information, it would be very nice.

I think being able to control which stats appear will help. I think not including Hits for batters and K's for pitchers leaves a gap. I tried adding them, but I'm sure the syntax wasn't correct(as they obviously didn't show up).
But regardless, it is a fun feature, ripe for mods, and I'm going to have fun with it.

The only stats you can use right now are the ones in the default.xml. More possibilities are coming one other you can use is %AGE that's it for now.
