FTP woes, HELP me please - Explicit TLS/SSL server (SFTP or FTPES) only
I'm really stuck with getting FTP settings working for my online league.
Basically, I can successfully use the FTP account I've created with a Filezilla client, over port 21, FTPES, but I cannot connect to FTP via OOTP 11, when I use the test league file option. Banging my head here. According to my server provider, they only use explicit tls and ssl -- FTP Auth TLS/SSL" or FTP over Explicit TLS/SSL (SFTP or FTPES) I've tried every possible FTP setting on the OOTP online league setup "test league file..." option, plus port 21 and 22, and no dice, not working. Help me pleeeease ![]() |

If you can connect with FileZilla but not with OOTP, using the same exact FTP settings, it might mean your firewall or anti-virus program could be blocking OOTP's FTP connection.

Thanks for the reply. I've tried disabling windows firewall, and I'm still having the same problem. I co-commish a league on someone else's server, and import/export functions work fine via old-school cleartext.
I'm wondering if this is an OOTP issue, as I would assume most OOTPers are using old-school FTP (cleartext). Would be happy with either SFTP or FTPES... no preference. Last edited by hbomb; 07-10-2010 at 11:26 AM. |

Solved - Antivirus was blocking TLS/SSL
Oddly I can get "Active TLS" working on my laptop. So it's likely the anti-virus is blocking the TLS request. I use Avast on the laptop, and AVG on my main computer.
Ironically AVG anti-virus does not impact regular FTP (cleartype) connections, as I can communicate to other FTP sites from this computer; it just must block TLS and SSL As I can't disable AVG, looks like I'll have to pull the plug on it and install Avast.
