Using Backup File
My online league crash last night after I ran the sim the crash was caused by 2 teams have 41 players on the active roster for Spring Training.
I installed my game back with my backup file my question is how come I lost all my history for the game and the 7 years of almanacs are gone? I thought a backup saved everything |

Unfortunately the History files are not saved during incremental backups. I always use "copy all file" to ensure a complete league is available.
See the manual for a better explanation. OOTP Baseball Manual - Backup Game That is unfortunate. Did you happen to store a previous back on a DVD or external drive?

I guess I am little puzzled on this one. I don't use full game backup, but the backup includes almanacs, for example, and if I restore from the backup, the almanacs are there. My understanding is that the only purpose behind selecting the "full file" backup is to force the backup to replace a file which hasn't changed. Of course, you can always look at what is included in the backup game folder for that game, and at the date stamping for everything. So, it seems to me that either the almanacs are there or they aren't.
This is different from the Auto-save based backup, which only provides a means for restoring the various dat files in their most recent state in case of a serious crash. |

Empty almanac folders would certainly explain why you didn't have the almanacs when you restored. Why they are empty is a mystery to me. If you had files in the almanac in your game, they should have been saved in a backup. I don't know the answer to your other question.

Did you have an almanac generated at a specified time of year?
