Too many coaches

I like having coaching on, but for some reason I have an enormous list of managers and coaches with a ton of duplicates (sometimes 4 or 5 of the exact same person). I was hoping that turning coaching off would eliminate all the coaches from the game, but it just dumps the guys into the pool.

Does anyone know a quick and easy way to delete some (or even all) the coaches? There's no multi-select option, so I started going through and just deleting duplicates, but it's incredibly tedious and after a while the game crashes and I lose the work I've done.

Looks like I was wrong about multi select. My bad

You should save the game frequently to help capture any deletions you make. However a crash suggests a corrupted file or db. Sorry I can't be more helpful.

Does the crash occur every time you've tried this? Are we talking one or two occasions or many more? It hasn't been reported, but that doesn't mean it shouldn't be added, if it can be reproduced without exception.

Sorry, really late response to your question. Yes, the game crashed every time I tried to delete coaches. I could usually get several done (maybe 100 or so) before it finally fails. I eventually stopped trying and proceeded with coaching off.

I've also had some problems with the game crashing as I was trying to exit and save, and then also once when I attempted to to open a particular player screen.

I'm no expert, but I'm guessing it's a corrupted game file, is there any way to repair that, or am I left to just start a new game all over?

how many coaches were there? I had a MAL league where i planned on putting in all real managers so i fired everyone and starting deleting all except scouts and trainers i was in the 1600 range at least (not sure this was in july) took me 4 days to delete all coaches.

mass delete is badly needed for 12.

i have been able to delete up to 900 or so? coaches i know for my smaller historical league i was able to do basically all 30 mlb teams plus minors as of the 2010, but i did gove up on that 1.

if u can still start your league, do a backup then start the game from the backup that should fix the save problem. i had the same issue and Athletics? forgot who the support dude is helped me through that.

By my understanding, a corrupted game file is the end of the road. Unless you have a pre-corruption backup you can revert to, I believe it's time to start looking for a fork.
