I tested it yesterday in my fictional league, mand everything worked perfectly fine. I have no idea what it did not work in your online league. Was it converted from OOTP 11? If so, that might be the case... it should work well for the next draft.

Yes it was converted. I've seen this behavior in OOTP11 as well though. I only play online so I can't say if it comes up in solo play. I know I have seen it happen multiple times. It happens around ST and in early season signings.

No. I checked.
Even in that case, bp should have then been awarded the team's 3rd round pick. If the 3rd round pick was already given, then 4th round etc etc.

seems to be working fine in my online league, I traded away my #1 and #2 and then lost the #3 and #4 when I signed Type A Free Agents
