Smile A little scouting change in OOTP 13

Hey guys,

I like playing with scouts (I like international scouting), but I also like to see the 'real' ratings. That combination was not possible. Until now.

I added a scouting accuracy option to OOTP 13 called "100% Accurate". So you see the real ratings, but your scouting director can also find hidden talent. Hope you like it. I also improved the accuracy of established players for all the other scouting accuracy settings...

Hope you like it

Cheers,
Markus

If you select 100% accuracy, will the AI teams also have 100% ?

I always wanted to toy with the idea of playing with scouting off. The reason I never did is the because I like finding hidden players.

Anyway this will work playing stats only? Only wondering becasue it's another idea I've toyed with but didn't for the same reason.

Of course. But then again, if you have 100% stats only you see no ratings anyway...

What I meant was will you be able to still have a scout and him discover talent but not see any scouting ratings.

Yes! You see the scouting text report, though.

According to OOTP itself, OOTP MLB play (modern and historical) outnumbers OOTP fictional play three to one.

Five thousand thanks for a non-modder? I never thought I'd see the day. Thank you for your support.

One thing that always bothered me about stats and turning off ratings was the fact you then had a bunch of blank spots on the player screen. It would be nice to have those ratings areas disappear when turning off ratings.

Yes very good change. OOTP 13 is the first version to get me started thinking about doing a few different types of solo leagues. This and the Random debut feature really have me thinking.

I heartily agree. Have been playing the same solo league for 4+ years but with all the new stuff, I'm about ready to mix it up!

Yeah, the missing eye candy is why I stopped doing all stats/no ratings - I just got too bored with the look! Now if the eye candy (the colored bars mostly, but other stuff) could represent level of stats accomplishment (say over a certain time period) then that would be awesome.

This really opens scout finds back up for online leagues that weren't interested in invalidating all the ratings info on the uploaded HTML to get this feature.

What is the issue of the ratings in the HTML with scouts on that requires 'invalidating all the ratings'? Obviously I missed a discussion somewhere.

Thanks

Basically, because each teams scouts were different, and saw players differently,
You'd get a pretty dramatic difference in what the leagues html says a player's talents and ratings are, versus what your in game scouts say.

Ahhh. OK, so the HTML became useless in a lot of situations when you wanted to research your team or players because you didn't have the same info in-game as in the HTML. Makes sense.

Thanks

So what would the purpose of this be for? So you can have scouting on and be able to find hidden talent - even though all scouts see "real" ratings?

Before I guess you couldn't see true ratings with scouts? Who would want that?

Yes, especially with trading with another Gm.

Basically, what you said. In the past, if you wanted to use real ratings, but also wanted to have international players (found by scouts), you couldn't because scouting wasn't on. Now? Voila! True eyes with the ability to discover hidden players.
