Now or Later?

As a longtime Baseball Mogul player (save for this past season) I'm interested in taking a good long look and getting hooked by OOTP.

My question is.... Do I buy '13 or do I wait until '14?

At $20 it would still be a great bargain for the next three months.

Download the Demo - then you can make an informed decision on whether or not you wish to wait. Also, no feature list for 14 has been released yet, so it's difficult to say either way.

Of course every version of this game has always been an improvement upon the last, so there is no doubt that 14 will be another great game.

Get 13 now. You'll become immersed in its greatness and versatility. Then, when 14 comes out, you'll be amazed at how much work goes into upgrading each version and thankful you joined this community!

OOTP 13 is durable, 5 star rating, 5 star potential, cheap, easy to obtain. He can go in your starting rotation and anchor it for years.

All these guys have it right, including Bluenoser who advises trying out the demo. If you like it, though, I would get OOTPB 13, now. Here are two more reasons:

Gloomy Gus that I am, I fear each new version in a way: Someday, I think, it will be an iPhone and iPad app ONLY. Tiny screen version, you know? SO I am holding on to my laptop and each version of OOTPB that works on it. Version 13 is really, really solid. Also, I fear a Steam-only game in the future, though I dread that less these days; still, I think someday Steam will not work for laptops, either.
More with it, more optimistic than that? Good! So, here's the other reason: Each version of this game (with one exception) has been better than the last. For a discounted price, you can download this game now, learn it, and be prepared for the enhancements that version 14 will bring. Otherwise, you will have to wait and dive in with even more bells and whistles to get used to!
