Red Sox Uni 1978 Spring Training. Only played for Red Sox in 1977. Ted Cox started his big-league baseball career on fire, establishing the Major League Baseball (MLB) record of hitting safely in his first six official at-bats. His six consecutive hits at the start of his career in 1977 is still the record for 131 years of organized baseball.

I found this small picture on the net a few days ago.

If he's really wearing a Phillies cap, the image would be clearer than yesterday's post (permalink 17415). The "P" on the cap seems like the one on a confirmed Phillies 1945 picture on this site (permalink 4038).

That is certainly much clearer than this image, but it looks PhotoShopped to me. I believe the cap logo is too small to be a real 1945 Phillies "P," samples of which I have attached below.

Players shown are Jimmie Foxx, Bitsy Mott, Lou Lucier and Granny Hamner.

In section 17431 (1945 Phillies) I know that of the four Phillies photos you posted - Top Left is Jimmie Foxx and Bottom Right is Granville "Granny" Hamner", but who are the other two players?

The jim_duggan photo in the Facepack, posted here and shown on Duggan's B-R.com page actually shows the trainer for the 1914 Providence Grays (standing far R in the team photo below). It is not the one-game Major Leaguer.

It's trainer Jimmy Duggan that went on to become the trainer for the New York yankees.
