Retire according to history question.

If I have a historical league set in the 70's then import historical players from the past into the league can I still use the "Retire players according to history?

So, if I added Babe Ruth into my 70's league at the age of 19 would he retire mimicking his 22 year career or does the game engine take over?

At least as i have found, if "retire according to history" is on, anyone with no further years of play will be retired. so that means any inserted players from the past, as well as any fictional players you may have brought in
the way around it, a bit time consuming if you have a lot, but in commisioner mode you can go into the retired players, unretire them, and put them back on their teams-
