Help On Creating Fictional Stats Only League!!!

I really want to create a new fictional "major league" that runs stats only...But I just don't know how to go about it. What settings to I use for the most realistic compared to real life MLB baseball? How do I start it?

Looking for something that emulates and older era, where starter era's were in the 2 to 4 range on average, and hitters were considered power hitters if they launched 25 a year

And players didn't make CRAZY salaries.

To the point, I'm looking for some sort of "walk through" or step by step on the way to set up the league and settings.

I've seen through other threads that Wolf seems to be pretty up on this subject, so if you're out there Wolf.....let me be your apprentice!

Follow the search procedure in my signature, decide what you want, and try it.

I recommend both a HS and a college feeder, and full minors.

According to OOTP itself, OOTP MLB play (modern and historical) outnumbers OOTP fictional play three to one.

Five thousand thanks for a non-modder? I never thought I'd see the day. Thank you for your support.

I guess that's the big part where I get lost. So you set up your main league (ML, AAA, AA, AdvA, A, SA, R) and delete all the players. Then set up your feeder leagues (HS, Col) and sim for 5 years, at which point you then hold your inaugrial draft?

Thanks for clarification, I've been playing OOTP since 11, but have never gotten as deep into the game as I would like to start to.

Best way to do it, in my personal opinion:

1. Set up the league. Your main league, however many levels of minors you want, and any feeders you need. Make sure to set the starting year to 10-20 years prior to the when you actually want it to start.

2. Fill the teams with fictional players (or let the AI go through the initial draft).

3. Sim forward anywhere from 10-20 years, to get to your starting point. This eliminates the initial draft class, meaning most of the players in the league have come through the feeder system.

4. Release all players and schedule a fantasy draft. Take over the team you want and draft your players based on their career stats. Make sure to do this before erasing history, so you have stats to draft with.

5. Erase the history of the league, and begin.

I've asked this question in one those threads before and din't really get an answer so i'll attempt again. When using feeder leagues when is the best time to set their season to end? A week before the main league draft? A month? Or can it continue through and players will be drafted anyway?

I don't have any feeder leagues set up as of yet but I *believe* that if you schedule the season past the draft date, the draft pool will be from the previous year's crop of players. So even putting it to end a week prior could be a bad idea if the playoffs run long or something.

Otherwise to the OP you might want to consider setting your starting season in the early to mid 1970s or, if you want to play for a longer period before the mean old mid-90s, don't mind station to station baserunning, and are willing to experience a mini-dead ball era, the mid to late 50s.

Thanks. As far as evolution is concerned, if I start the league in the 1950's, will the game follow the same modifier progression that historically took place IRL?

If I start the league in a future year, or say this year and edit the modifiers myself, will the game randomly change the modifiers in such a way that at some point my league may experience a "dead ball era" or vice versa?
