Rocky Colavito (1955), Don McMahon (1957), Ken Boyer (1955)

All with the White Sox.

The Boyer is clearly spring training '68 - an American League produced slide for television, by the way (and showing its age) - but I think it should do in a pinch.

A Wish-list for Merkle?

Wow, I feel as though I should be better prepared…

Okay, then:

Anything that's been "created" via photoshop or whatever and presented in the thread. Obviously, I admire the fine efforts of all our creators, but just as obviously I would prefer the real deal.

(Some examples I remember off the top of my head are:

Bill Henry, 1968 Pirates
Dave Nicholson, 1967 Braves
Gene Green, 1961 Senators
Marty Martinez, 1968 Braves
Dan McGinn, 1968 Reds

but there are many others.)

Anything on Pegasus27's UIN list. I assume that pretty much goes without saying, but here I am saying it, in case you hadn't thought to check. (Except that I can't get the list to work for me…argh! Don't know if it's the site or my comp. Hope you have better luck.)

Kansas City A's uniforms for players who are only represented in the Pitchers/Batters packs with Oakland. Different city, different hat = Different team, IMO. The most dire of these would be Reggie Jackson; it seems bizarre we don't have anything for his first big-league team.

Rocky Colavito, 1964 Kansas City A's -all I ever see of Rock in KC are spring training shots (in the 1962 uniform!), a few B&W and one thing that looks like an illustration. A legitimate photo of Colavito in the green-and-gold (or sunday white) would be deeply appreciated.

Any 1967 Senators pictures in their variant uniforms with the white hats and white, un-striped socks.

Any 1968-1969 Orioles in the variant vested uniforms with the black undershirts.

Mets in color (my team has been photographed a lot, but if we can upgrade some of the B/Ws to color, I'm in favor of it). The players marked with an asterisk(*), I'll take any upgrade, even B/W, as the existing pics are not very good.

Jim Marshall, 1962
Clem Labine, 1962
Gus Bell, 1962
Hobie Landrith, 1962
Herb Moford, 1962
Larry Foss, 1962
Sherman "Roadblock" Jones, 1962
Dave Hillman, 1962
Ray Daviault, 1962

Don Rowe, 1963
Grover Powell, 1963
Jimmy Piersall, 1963

Amado Samuel, 1964
Wayne Graham, 1964*
Tom Parsons, 1964
Tom Sturdivant, 1964 (we have color, it's just too small, IMO)

Dennis Musgraves, 1965
Gary Kolb, 1965*

Dick Stuart, 1966
Lou Klimchock, 1966 (I have color, but it's a mediocre illustration)
Dallas Green, 1966

Hal Reniff, 1967*
Dennis Bennett, 1967*
Bill Denehy, 1967
Billy Wynne, 1967*
Al Schmelz, 1967 (anything, he's missing)
Joe Moock, 1967 (have color, need larger)

John Strohmayer, 1973-1974*
Jerry May, 1973*

Leon Brown, 1976
Pepe Mangual, 1976-1977 (Have color, but could stand improvement)

Doc Medich, 1977

Mardie Cornejo, 1978
Butch Metzger, 1978 (completely missing…and his name starts with "Met" for Mr. Met's sake!)

Phil Mankowski, 1980
Mario Ramirez, 1980+

Obviously that's a massive pile of randomness, but whatever you could produce would be deeply appreciated.

Also, as you may or may not know, jeffersons34n2 has an ongoing request for pictures of his late father, Jesse Jefferson. Top request is the 1975 White Sox powder-blue road uniform, although if you by some miracle have anything from Jesse's one-game stint with the 1980 Pirates, that would be top of the heap.

Again, thank you very much.

Speaking of Jesse Jefferson…

Here's what I was able to find about your dad, Jeffersons34n2.

Name: Jesse_Jefferson.vbj.jpg
Views: 2617
Size: 67.8 KB

Blue Jays game action, courtesy of VintageBlueJays blog. Hope Jesse's just doing his pre-inning warm-ups, or he'll need to have a talk with that inattentive first baseman there. (Willie Upshaw, is that you?)

Name: Jesse_Jefferson-t_49248.jpg
Views: 2460
Size: 30.0 KB

Angels 8x10 promo pic.

I also like to do tweaks to pictures, increasing the brightness and sharpness so we can see facial features that would otherwise be hidden in shadows (a pet peeve of mine). Here are a few I did to pictures you've already seen:

Name: Jesse_Jefferson 1973 ST edit.jpg
Views: 2378
Size: 40.6 KBName: jesse_Jefferson-590x906 copy.jpg
Views: 2506
Size: 134.4 KBName: Picture 8.png
Views: 2468
Size: 349.4 KB

I also searched for items currently on sale that you might like to have:

The J.D. McCarthy postcard; you've seen the autographed version, but this one is clean.

1992 Nabisco Canada Jays' 15th anniversary baseball cards. You've probably seen your dad's, as it was listed in the cardpedia entry RPirske linked you to, but here it is for sale. Don't know if you have it already.

The White Sox 8x10 shown upthread, the Angels 8x10 I just posted, and the Orioles 3.5x5. You may already have any or all of these, but if you don't, I hope this helps.

Lastly, I don't know if you've ever read this blog post about your dad's one-and-only outing for the Pirates, but it was a good read. Pretty good day for #51, it appears. (Even if it was the only time he ever wore that number.)

Again, hope I was able to help. Best wishes.

Gary Kolb (1960), Wayne Graham (1963), Bill Henry (1952)

After years of looking, I'm confident there's no '67 color shot of Reggie Jackson (unless it was taken by a fan in the stands). I've even talked with Reggie about it and he's never seen one.

Same for Dave Nicholson of the same year. I'm pretty confident there is no '62 Mets shot of Jones in color, but there clearly is one of Gus Bell, which appears on the Cramer/Swell Greatest Players set, either series one or two, issued in the 1988-92 era. The other Mets are in my files, I'll post as I can.

A few others (Kolb-Mets, Graham-Mets, Henry-Pirates) are attached here.

Is '64 Colavito a problem? He's in full A's regalia on one of those "talking albums" made in that area. I'll try to screen mine soon.

Rocky Colavito (1955), Herb Moford (1955), Gene Green (1957)

The Colavito Auravision "record" - complete with grooves - from 1964.

Moford with the '62 Mets and Green with the '61 Nats.

Al Montreuil (1972), Bill Robinson (1966), Charlie Lau (1956), Bill Henry (1952)

From the Pegasus27 UIN list...

Montreuil '72 Cubs
Robinson '66 Braves
Lau '67 Braves
Bill Henry '69 Astros

Thrown in for fun, Bill Henry in camp with the Pilots in 1969.

Reggie Jackson - 1967 Kansas City A's

Topps put out a famous rookies set within the last 10 years and it contained this card of Reggie Jackson and if you look closely it appears that he has a KC on his hat. Not sure what the original photo looked like but maybe someone can find a match.

I think that the KC logo on his cap was hand painted by Topps. Compare the end of the C with that of the Stone picture. Really not the same. And here is a pic of Reggie that must have been taken at the same time...with the A on his cap. Very twisted matter!!

Rocky Colavito - 1964 Kansas City A's

Topps Vault had this 1964 image for Rocky Colavito with the 1964 A's as well as this 1964 Topps Super of Colavito in the older uniform from spring training:

I've seen the original of the "KC" Topps shot. It has a big bright unmistakable Oakland "A" on the cap. It's a very well-done photo-shop...but a photo-shop nonetheless.
