Is Suspending a Team Possible?

Is it possible to suspend a team from the league for a number of seasons, and then reinstate it into the league with all the players having aged the appropriate number of years? Or do I have to place them into some other subleague I must create to keep playing while I wait to bring them back? I'd prefer not to have to create such a league because I don't want it to appear in that season's almanac.

Thinking about this problem a little more got me to wondering whether it is possible to create something like an independent satellite league where a bunch of teams can play and all their players are available for scouting and signing, yet they do not keep box scores or game logs but they do keep stats, and they don't show up in the Almanac at the end of the season. Does anyone know whether that kind of thing is possible?

I have no idea about the almanac (since I don't use it), but as for not saving box scores, I suppose you could make it an independent minor league and then choose to save box scores from "All Major Leagues". That wouldn't exactly work if you wanted the minor league box scores from the main league as well, though.

I'm not sure if this is totally possible, but maybe someone else has some insight.

EDIT: Know what? Just as I put this out there, I got a bright idea to look, and I found where in the almanac section I could maintain a league and report nothing on it in the almanac. So I can always suspend a team to this satellitle league and bring it back and not have to worry about having the entire league in my almanac.

It won't be in your Almanac, but it will be in your history.

What you are trying to accomplish is not possible, sorry.

What part of what I'm trying to accomplish is not possible? I won't have to keep that leagues almanacs, box scores or game logs. What else do you think I'm looking for that I can't do?

1. You cannot suspend a team and bring it back.

2. Almanac and league history are two different things. The Almanac is derived from the league history after it's created. Almanac is a user choice, league history gets created without user choice. So if you uncheck boxscores and gamelogs in the Almanac that only means they won't be saved in the Almanac when you create it. The league history you look at in OOTP will still reflect any games that team plays, no matter where they play them.

If that's all you're trying to accomplish though, is keeping them out of the Almanac, then you're fine.

I'm sorry, I was using unclear language. When I said, "I can always suspend a team to this satellitle league and bring it back", I meant I can relegate the team to the league where it can keep paying, and bring it back when it's time. Unless you're saying that's what's not possible.

Are you certain about this? Or else maybe we're talking about different things.

I ask because under Global Setup > Auto-Save & Log Options, there are drop-downs for "Save Box Scores from" and Save Game Logs from...", and both can be set to none. This is separate from the function under Almanac Options > Archive HTML Reports Annually > Edit Profile, which has check boxes for both box scores and game logs.

This suggests to me that they have different functions, in that the latter is the option to include or exclude them from the Almanac, while the former is the option of whether to save them at all in league history. So it seems that if I select none to the former, box scores and game logs might be generated during the season, but they won't save them so that if I can back into past years they won't be there, even if other historical data such as individual player careers and team records and league standings are.

Am I misunderstanding this?

You are correct. I was just pointing out that they are different entities. Your first few posts kept talking about the Almanac, and not league history. I wanted to be sure you knew they were not the same thing.
