It is generally assumed that images exist for most of the players/managers/umpires on the missing lists. Hiland was no exception, we just hadn't tracked one down yet. Early minor league team photos are a treasure trove for missing player hunters, and the more complete the minor league data the greater the chance of making a "find." Hiland was identified by last name on a known 1888 Jersey City team photo and matching up the photo with the team roster on B-R.com made it clear that this was our guy.
