Coaker Triplett - OF for the Cardinals from 1941-43

Johnny Hopp - 1B-OF for the Cardinals 1939-45

Jack Creel - pitcher for the 1945 Cardinals

Dick Sisler - 1B-OF for the Cardinals in 1946-47 and again in 1952-53. He was the son of Hall of Famer George Sisler.

Pepper Martin - OF - starred for the Cardinals 1930-40 - in 1941 he became a player-manager in the Cardinals farm system - with the war taking personnel, the Cardinals returned him to their roster to play the 1944 season at the age of 40.

Jimmy Brown - 2B-3B-SS for the Cardinals from 1937-43 - military service in 1944-45 - returned in 1946 to play one year for the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Lon Warneke - P for the Cardinals from 1937-42, originally played for the Cubs 1930-36 and was traded back to the Cubs by the Cardinals during the 1942 season.

Bob Keely - Catcher - was actually the bullpen catcher for the Cardinals but was activated for one game in 1944 and one game in 1945 - left St. Louis with manager Billy Southworth and became a coach for the Braves for the next decade.

I don't know where I got Stew's picture, but it had to be on this site - it's where I get all of the pics I use. The guys on this site have a way of ferreting out pictures that's just amazing. Maybe someone reading this will know where his picture was hiding all of these years. I've attached the original that I found on this site and the one I colored.

Here's the original post. I found the photo in an eBay auction a few years ago. I cropped it from a 1946 news photo, as shown below. I'm afraid I don't know where another might be available.

I just found this site while looking for my uncle John's pics . I have colorized pics of him years ago , and they dont look as well as most of these , but I thought well enough to post here .
