GM/Coach/Bench coach strategy settings

There is an "overall strategy" page on the team screen, but then there are are also strategy setting on the coaches' profile.

Has anyone figured out how these relate? If I set my team strategy "lots of bunting," then hire Davey Johnson, do the GM settings override him, does he override the settings, or do they find some happy median? The player strategy settings make it plain that they either modify or override the team settings, but I'm not sure how the coaching staff works. Does the bench coach have a say.

Come to think of it, I'm unclear on how the coaching system works in general. Is the batting coach the only one who affects hitters' development, or do the other coaches get involved there? If I have a bench coach who is Legendary at, say teaching fielding, and a head coach who is lousy, what happens?

The team strategy page overrides the managers' individual strategies. If you hire a new manager, depending on your team control settings the team strategy page will automatically be updated to reflect the manager's strategies, but you are free to adjust it again from there.

To go one step further, there is also the player strategy page, which overrides the team strategy settings if you have the "override" mode selected for that particular player.
