Great Late Pick

Enrique Hernandez, drafted 211th overall, wins Triple Crown, ROY & MVP in rookie season. He wears #13 for good luck I guess

Wow, that guy's even more impressive than my 16th rounder! (See Late Round Draft Steals thread) In retrospect, my guy had a history of playing well, albeit from the bench behind another future all-star in college. This guy did nothing til he hit the majors. I'd love to see more of these in 15.

It's particularly impressive that he could amass 10+ WAR with that lead glove.

Eh, looks like he was worth -0.7 WAR defensively. That's probably the norm for 1b around baseball.

Based on my understanding of how OOTP does it, he was -7.3 ZR relative to other 1B in the league. By definition, that's not the norm for 1B around the league. The fact that OOTP just takes ZR * 0.1 to come up with defensive WAR isn't really a good point of comparison with "real" world WAR values, as I understand it.

Cool stuff, blue'. I really like those surprises.

Sidenote, seeing the Rookie of the Year award. Is the Rookie of the Year Award appearing in any of your history awards for the minor leagues, or like mine, are they just showing up as () in the awards sections? I'm starting to get a little miffed about that one.

Best part of the game imo, in ootp and irl. When a nobody becomes a somebody.

Baseball - Expect the unexpected and embrace it when it occurs
