Expansion team

Can anyone walk me through the steps of starting with an expansion team for the 2014 season and real MLB rosters? I am new to the game, and can't seem to figure this out on my own. Thanks in advance.

Basically what u do is go to game settings under MLB and on the left theres expand League and schedule expansion draft..

You will have randomlly named development clubs like AAA,AA etc... and u will have automatically created staff so if u dont like them i will have to sing ur own... just remember as soon as u finish ur first day u have your expansion draft and then after ur expansion draft ur play ur first MLB team..

heres what i setup for my Montreal Expos..

How the expansion team draft will work, each team can protect 40 players, they can only auto protect players with less then 3 yrs of pro career and no limit of players can be selected from a single team.

" my expansion team as I will be playing as the Montreal Expos and the other expansion team is the Portland Pilots. We decided to put Portland Pilots in the AL west division to rival with the seattle Marines and we put the Montreal Expos in the NL division to rival with the Washington Nationals who used to be the montreal Franchise."

if you need any other help please let me know... Ohh btw when u do ur expansion team setup u decide how many rounds u want... i did 35 because thats what Tampa bay did when they came into the MLB... so after i did my 35 round expansion draft not all 35 players went to my MLB team osme i drafted for depth for AAA, AA and A and then since AAA, AA, and A season dont start till april 3rd u have from March 24th to April 3rd to sign UFAs for ur AAA, AA, and A teams and then ur Short season and and rookie team doesnt start will 3rd or 4th week of june..

it might give u two rookie teams i just assigned my 2nd one to another MLB team that way i have MLB, AAA, AA, A, Short Season and rookie...

Is this how it works in a dynasty league as well that has possible league expansion?? I'm just curious as I haven't gotten thru my first season yet in my dynasty (I play some games along with simming about 3/4 of them).

The Portland Pilots sound like a great name for a MLB team. Yet, the University of Portland, which is a Roman Catholic run university, uses Pilots for their athletic teams.
