Ghost players called up, but allowed to play? Nooooo
I just set up a historical league, 1961, and set the game up for having minors and ghost/fictitious players to fill the ranks so the minors will run, but,
I also had it set up in the league/game setup so that only the historical players could play in the majors, but.... As soon as I looked at my team roster, I sent down a player and called up a non-historical player to test it, and sure enough, the player is in the majors, hence he can play once I start. Where am I going wrong? Where can I turn it off so the fictional players can't play? I thought the original setup that asks the question was suppose to not allow it? |

*Bonks self on the head*
I am playing in commish mode, that could have something to do with it too I suppose... I just thought that the game would have some type of label on the players that was visible to me, that guys are not historical players when playing in this mode, making them unable to be used... or at least labeling them as such so that even I would easily know that they are fictional. With a minor league system, I wanted the historical players to develop and come up to the major when ready and not be just a replay of reality. |

One way to tell if a player is fictional or historical is to go to the Editor tab in his profile and see if the Lahman ID field has a number in it (historical) or is blank (fictional):
