When it has been? Or do you mean iOOTP 2014, the product of Sebastian? But iOOTP is a long and respected franchise. Besides, Sebastain spends not so much time on iOOTP as one thinks.

We are back in a situation where any meaningful information from the developers has stalled. In my work I always believe there is time for even the smallest updates such as "we are working on this", "we are fixing this", "we tried this and it hasn't worked but we are doing this instead" or even "we have found a few issues in testing and things will be delayed".
Don't all you remember the developer has said not many moons ago in London thread that they work on boring bugs that won't be interested to anybody. Do you think it's interesting to write to something like: "Today I rewrite trading code. Next week I'll be refactoring code making it easier to read and to change"?

Silence implies that nothing is being done (which I doubt is the case), a lack of progress or a lack of direction. So come on OOTP break the silence.
I think the silence implies it's too painful for them to read forums and talk to angry users. If you know you had set a goal too ambitious and couldn't make it, it's painful to look in the eyes (or should I say "posts") of those who believed you. I think now they just want to focus on their current match engine goal and don't let anything disturb them.

If you won't promise a chef-d'oevre users won't expect it from you. I think they try to return to their humble beginnings.

On the other hand, I don't know about your money, but $40 in Ukraine is quite a big sum. With these money you can buy a small constrictor snake. (????? ?? ??????? ????? ?????? ?? 400 ?????? | ?????? ?? Gazeta.ua). Or 100 loafs of black bread.

BTW, are any programmers there? Do you have any homebrew hobby hockey games one can play waiting for release?

Hopefully that is it and they are buckling down on getting this game into a properly playable state.

There is another forum, The Blue Line, which is much more active than here in discussing the game and they also speak of how disappointing this has been. They also agree that the game being green lit at this stage with all the bugs is just going to cause more harm than good.

I kept my silence for months and months since purchasing the game but I want to actually play the game properly that I purchased in December and I'm pretty damn upset over the status of this project now.

Green Lighting this on Steam ... well, interesting their priority is that over fully finishing the product they already charged a bunch of us for. If they think the group that keeps posting here is angry ... wait for the Steam Community to light them up.

And again and again they fail to communicate ... one thread stating we'll get "3-4 updates a week" ... then several weeks of silence. Then recently JeffR saying they've been silent because of something else going on, for him to then confirm it's the green light on Steam. Ok ummm that's all fine and good, but getting released on Steam and finishing the patch you've been promising for over a month are in my mind ... completetly seperate and unrelated.

prety much every game gets green lit so i dont see why they where waiting with that news anyway.well coders/developers allways have the same mindset when it comes to updating the community.they do it at first then it slowly dies off as it allways does.what they dont understand is that people that buy their pruduct just want some news doesent matter how small it is they just want to read something so they know things are happening and that goes a long way.tried to tell them that but instead i got that works in theory so dont get your hopes up about getting any news anytime soon.so simple to do but so hard for every
coders/developer to do

It wasn't in his update thread but I did find this posted on the 9th May.

Editing to be restored in final patch, or not?

Simple, critical question that needs to be answered. In Sebastian's Update Thread, which is now locked and closed, JeffR mentions that next patch "is not the big match engine patch that will be the final one for this version of the game."

Will that final patch, the last one for this version of the game, restore the editing that was in the beta? Will it make functional all the parts of the game for which there where interface elements in the beta (as essentially mockups and placeholders)?

Please give an answer to these critical points.

Hopefully the answer is yes for the editing, but with the qualification that any editing change might cause errors and crashes that will be the responsibility of the person making the editing changes, not the developers of the game.
I think that's the fairest approach.

I don't know if soneone has said this yet but I find trading is waaaay too easy. For example in custom league i've traded an 8.0 player and two 6 rounders for a 9.0 player. This is just one of many that allows me to win the cup as much as I want.

Well you should judge in-game numbers, not names

I'm a little unsure about all this steam talk and product keys that will be given to us that have bought the game already. Do I need to install a third party program on my computer to play the game now, Do I need Steam to play the game and download updates in the future ? Are the versions going to be different from PC, MAC and Steamplay versions ?

I'm a little lost in all of the transition here and wouldn't call myself computer savy by any means.. Could a little more information be presented because I'm under the impression on what I just read is that we'll be updating the game via steam now or we'll be affiliated with steam perhaps ??

I think it has been stated that there will be no-steam version as well. You shouldn't need Steam at all to play the game. But I may be mistaken, you should better wait for Jeff's answer.

No, that's right, the non-Steam version will still exist. The versions are identical, the only difference in the Steam version is that the registration key is handled by them and not eSellerate. We're just giving the Steam keys out to any existing customers who want them, since some people prefer having their games in their Steam library (where they can take advantages of the conveniences it offers, like automatic game updates.) But some people prefer the existing setup, so we'll continue to sell and support that version as well.

@JeffR

Have you identified and solved the problem with the transfer deadline into the non-playable leagues?

Quote:
the transfer restriction after the deadline isn't being lifted properly at the start of the new season for non-playable leagues with deadlines before January.
