Looking to setup a league. Need answers

Hi,
Just got this game and I am trying to set it up for a league. I found a post with a similar idea but I need more details.

I want to set up a league that has only historical players. I would like to draft them into the teams I create in the league. That's it.

I have tried many types of games and always I get fictional players. I cannot find how to delete the players or add in only historical players.

Any help would be great.

Randy

Presuming that you want to start with players from a particular year, I think this will work:

1) Start historical game for the given year.
2) Add your fictional league to the universe.
3) Release all players from the fictional teams and delete them as FA's.
4) Release all players from MLB and delete the teams/league.
5) Enable/hold inaugural draft in your fictional league.

Hey thanks.
How do you release them as MLB and delete the teams/league? What does MLB stand for?

Went and looked at the game to do this.
1. Does it matter what year I start the game?
2. Not sure what that means add fictional game to the universe? I assume that means create a fictional game.
3. I assume the game will put in fictional players like always and I understand how to release them and delete them as FA's.
4. Not sure how to release players from MLB. If I delete the teams/league don't I end up with nothing? Or do you mean delete the teams in my fictional league? If I do that how do I get teams to draft players?
5. Doing the inaugural draft how do the players get in the draft pool?

Sorry for all the questions, but I am trying to get it.

Yes, create the fictional league. You could also create it beforehand, save it as a template, then add it to the game. That way its rosters will be empty.

If you delete the league, the players are released into the free agent pool.

They're released from their teams, if there's any.

Hey great answers. Very precise.

If I delete the league, and then the players are released into the draft pool, what would be the best way to setup a new league with those players that just got released?

You could delete the MLB, then create the league and run an inaugural draft.

You could also delete the MLB, then add the fictional league as a template then run the draft. This way is better; if anything goes wrong, you don't have to create the league again. Also, run a test save first. See if the league works the way you want it: the finances, stats, draft, etc.
