I acquired a player via trade. My manager mail says he has been added to my team's 40-man roster, but he is not there. He's not on his old team's roster either. I've looked under Free Agents, Waivers and DFA and just about everywhere else, and even though there is a Player Profile of him and a Scouting Report, I can't find him on any roster. I've done player searches using every conceivable criterion to no avail. Any hints as to what is wrong or where he might be? THANKS!

Have you tried clicking on his name from the trade log or the news of the trade. Then you can see what team he's on.

A lot of players are sent to the secondary 40 man roster and as far as I know, there is no way of knowing who is on the secondary roster.
If you check the all transactions page it will still list him as traded to the big league team but there is a chance he is on the secondary roster. If your team doesn't have minor league team(s),then his name more than likely show up on the reserve list. |

Check player designated for assignment. You will find it on the roster and transaction page. Once you find him there add him to your 40-man roster, the active roster. Just noticed you did look there.

Check the 60-day disabled list.

My vote is on the designated for assignment list. If you can find ANY reference to him in the game (such as through player search), then right click on him and see what actions are available to you. You can probably move him somewhere, and once you know where you have moved him, you should have no problem finding him.

Yes, it says he is on my 40-man roster. But he isn't! Not on the DL or any other list. Totally mystifying. And when I right-click on his name (on the trade news listing), the only options are offer him a contract, delete or retire him, etc. It doesn't offer the option of putting him on the active roster or anything like that. It's like he has fallen through the proverbial cracks. Maybe he went into the Witness Protection Program. Thanks to all who weighed in. I'll let you all know when and if he ever surfaces.

Well, one option is this: 1. Make a backup of your game. 2. Retire him 3. Unretire him, and see what happens. Maybe that will cause him to appear somewhere!

In the top left will be a drop down saying "Listed Players: Active Roster". You can change that to "40-man roster" or "All Players in Organization." It's pretty much the same on all of the transaction screens, too. There is always an option to view the Active vs 40-man roster.

I don't expect anyone to believe this, but I located the player I am looking for--Felix Doubront--in my May transactions log. He is listed twice--once as a lefty pitcher (which he is) and as a left fielder, which he isn't. But in both cases, when you click on his name you find he has become (I am not making this up), Jim Unknown #1and lists the stats of a righty middle reliever in A Ball. Has anyone ever encountered anything this freaky and/or have any idea how this happened or how to fix it? Thanks.

I was afraid of that. Luckily this player is not that important to my team, so I'll just have to live with it. Thanks very much for weighing in! Thanks to you, I won't waste any more time trying to fix the unfixable!
