James "Jake" Sanders, OF, is shown in a Detroit Stars uniform. Jake played for the Stars in 1956. He played for the Kansas City Monarchs in 1955.

Abe Saperstein, most noted for being the owner of the Harlem Globetrotters, was also an officer of several Negro League baseball teams -- the Cleveland Cubs, Cincinnati Clowns, and Chicago American Giants.

H. Walter Schlichter was an officer and the manager of the Philadelphia Giants during the 1902-10 period. He was also president of the National Association of Colored Base Ball Clubs of the United States and Cuba.

Joe Siddle was a first baseman for the Kansas City Monarchs in 1946. His image is shown on a plaque at the left. On the right, he is pictured in the uniform of the Goshen (NC) Red Wings.

Pedro Sierra, P, is shown in the uniform of the Detroit Stars. Pedro was with the Stars from 1955 to 1958.

Pedro Silva was a pitcher and outfielder with the All Cubans and Cuban Stars in 1921 and 1922. He is shown here in an unidentified uniform.

Silas "Si" Simmons was a pitcher whose baseball career lasted from 1912 to 1929.
He pitched for teams such as the New York Lincoln Giants of the Eastern Colored League and the Cuban Stars. He is pictured in the uniform of the 1913 Homestead Grays, which was still a semi-pro team at that point.

Si Simmons died in late October, 2006, a couple of weeks after his 111th birthday on October 14. As of 2020, he remains the longest living man ever to have played pro baseball.

Bazz Owen Smaulding, P, is shown with Gilkerson's Union Giants of Chicago in 1932. Bazz also pitched for the Kansas City Monarchs, Cleveland Tigers, Chicago American Giants, and Birmingham Black Barons.

Taylor Smith was a pitcher for the Chicago American Giants and Birmingham Black Barons during the 1948-53 period. He is shown here in the uniform of the Winnipeg Buffaloes of the Man-Dak League.

Willie Smith was a pitcher with the Birmingham Black Barons in 1959 and 1960. He became more famous as a major league outfielder and pitcher as the 1960's progressed. The attached image is from one of Willie's major league Topps cards, and I can't identify the uniform.

There was an earlier Willie Smith who pitched in the Negro Leagues. That Willie Smith was with the Homestead Grays in 1948, when the future major leaguer Willie Smith was only nine years old. 1948 Willie's photo remains to be discovered.
