Doug Howard 1972

And during his very brief time with Cleveland (1976). Another guy who was in camp with the original Jays but never appeared for them.

The similarity of the expression in this and the Angels shot is kind of remarkable.

I'll go out on a limb and say that I'm speaking for everybody here when I promise you, again - we've posted all of your father that we have and if anything else appears from whatever source we will post those as well.

There's nothing new from Topps of him and although the most recent images have been among players whose names start with the letters "ho" that doesn't necessarily mean the next ones will be of players whose names start with J.

A Couple More - Steve Kealey 1968

With the Angels, for whom he pitched in 1968, 1969, and 1970, and the Reds - in whose camp he appeared in 1974.

Greg Keatley 1981

Two games, two innings, one chance as a catcher for the Royals. Topps got him in camp with the Cubs in 1978 or 1979. The generic light blue helmet makes him ideal for anybody who wants to fake a KC image or photoshop one.

Just ousted as Yankees' first base coach. St. Louis 1972-73 and 1975, and Houston in 1974:

And Lastly For Now...

A couple of originals/unused images from the SSPC set, of some obscure 1975 Yankees (these are from my collection, I did not take them): Dave Pagan, Larry Murray, and Mike Wallace

Topps HO

Believe this is Jeff Holly.
Jeff was drafted by the White Sox in '71 and was in their system through 1975. He never saw any ML action, and was signed by the Twins in 1976. He got into some games for the Twins in 77, 78 and 79 (his one appearance on a Topps card was in 1979 as a Twin), and was traded to Detroit for Fernando Arroyo late in 79. He was probably in camp with the Tigers in '80, but he never saw any more action, at the Major or Minor level after the 1979 season.

Coonie Blank 1909

The Coonie_Blank image in the Facepack and on Blank's B-R.com page actually pictures minor leaguer Herman Blank with the 1914 Ludington Mariners. I have replaced it with this image, from Marc Okkonen's 2000 Cups of Coffee.

Warren Miller, OF, is shown in a Washington Senators uniform. This is from the Washington Evening Star of March 11, 1910.

Voting "Aye" on Jeff Holly.

He appears in the 1980 Tigers yearbook (below) and since the Topps Detroit image of him looks like the "after" that goes with the Chicago "before," I think this is an excellent ID

Fred Howard

While we're here, since I've only ever seen three images of one-year White Sox reliever Fred Howard (his 1980 Topps card and two 1979 Braces) - he's in the Topps Vault file too

1966 Bob Uecker Cardinals

Does this Bob Uecker photo exist in color? Also, can anyone point out copyright holder.. This is best Uecker photo I've seen (red cap!), and would like a nice, clear, legal copy....

Rod Gilbreath - A Pirate?

Who knew? Gilbreath was released by the Braves in early April of 1979, and spent the year playing at the PIrates' AAA Portland club. This shot must have been taken at Pirates' camp in 1980 - he played at Portland again in '80, but never played pro ball after the 1980 season. So there you have it - Rod Gilbreath in a Pirates uniform, courtesy of the Topps Vault and e-Bay.

I found several newspaper accounts around April 1, 1980 reporting that the Pirates had cut their roster by four players, including Rod Gilbreath, by sending them to the minors. So you are correct about his being in 1980 spring camp with them.
