Bruce Bochy 1978
Hardly a difficult photo to find but a reminder that, yes, his head has been that size for his entire baseball life.
The day he made his mlb debut Bochy told me he had owned one specially made batting helmet and each time the Astros moved him up to a new team in their chain he had to repaint it and find a new decal to stick on it. |

Damaso Blanco 1972
Another guy who hung around for awhile - part of three seasons as a utility infielder with the Giants - without a card or many images
They've posted four of him today - two from spring training, two from Candlestick. |

Randy Bobb again
Traded to the Mets in 1970 and gets into a lesser wing of "The Bill Sharman Society." This image isn't evidence of it but the Mets actually had him on the roster that September (and Topps shot him at Shea Stadium)

Request for Winston Llenas - 1975ish
Hello there, I was looking for a color pic of Winston Llenas of the Angels circa 1975 or maybe a year earlier.
Attached I have his SSPC image which I could go with if Merkle/someone might possibly have a clean version. ![]() I also attached a pic that short of getting a better version of his SSPC image, is where my current bar is at. If you have something else, by all means I'll gladly accepted it as well. (with the uni and hat with the big 'A' and halo....) Thanks! |

Custom Card of Winston Llenas
Don't know who created it, but it's a fine photo of Llenas.

This photo is from the current RMY auction, always a great source for rare photos.

Skeeter Shelton 1915
Can't resist claim-jumping here. This man spent eight days in the majors, and got into ten games in that span as the center fielder of the New York Yankees, August 25-September 1, 1915 - and then he vanished.
Also from the RMY Auction, where they're not sure what uniform Shelton is depicted in. Baseball Reference says he played college ball at both Fordham and West Virginia (also that he patrolled the minor league outfield in Maysville, Kentucky, the year after Casey Stengel did). Never seen Shelton before: |

Winston Llenas
Here is the actual print form the TV negative which I purchased years ago. Hobbs11 I know you want him in the 1973 and later uniform but maybe others would like to use this one without the watermark. A side story on the negative, after making the print for my collection I relisted on ebay and ended up selling the negative to none other than Ted Kubiak who was a minor league teammate and life long friend of Llenas. At the time Kubiak was still a minor league instructor with the Indians. He saved the S&H and picked the negative up at my house since we only live about 10 miles apart. Nice guy and a collector as well but mostly of old baseball gloves. Maybe not as good as a Merkle side story but as good as I have to offer.

Beauchamp redux
Quote:
Beauchamp was one of my favorite anecdotal brief Mets. He was wearing #24 when the Mets acquired Willie Mays, and didn't hold it for ransom or anything, just handed it over. And he was the first Met of French extraction to get his name "properly" pronounced by the Francophone PA announcer in Montreal, being called "Bow-SHOMP" even though he called himself "Beechum". (At tradition later kept up by Bruce Boisclair, "Bo-clair" in his home, but "BWAH-clair" in Quebec.) Merci beaucoup, mon ami. |

Doubt you'll find much better pf Reames than the one Merkle put in the photopack on page 982.
