Quick/Easy Suggestion
So, I want to start playing stats-only, but the "sabermetric" statistics in OOTP are lacking if you ask me. FIP is not really the best predictor of performance, as one of the three skills it takes into account is HRs, which seems to be mainly luck when it comes to how many of FBs will result in one.
That is not a problem, most people can live with it, and it's perfectly enough to have INSIDE the game. But, I'd like to calculate some other stats OUTSIDE of the game. I was wondering if it would be possible to add a feature where you can export what you have on the "List all (this league) players" screen. Of course also attach playerID to the export. That way, we could pick and choose exactly what stats get exported, and also export stats from last year or 2 years ago. This would aid in the ability to analyze players your own way outside of OOTP. If there is some way to do this already, could someone please point me to it? Thanks.

Why don't you just build a spreadsheet template with the formulas built into it to calculate what you want. Then export the stats. Open them up and copy paste to your template and your done.
Once your template is built, it only takes a couple of minutes each time to get the data you want. Just a thought..

The exported player_batting_stats, player_fielding_stats and player_pitching_stats .txt files (you'll need to change the extension to .csv) which will show up in the import_export folder of your save game after you export from the game settings menu.

I have two issues with that:
A)it appears that there is no FB/GB data for pitchers in the export? B)Also, only the current/most recent season is exported. What if I also wanted prior years of data? Is there a way to fix that?

All seasons get exported, not sure why you'd just see the last season. It's all there, assuming you exported from the right spot, which would be 'league settings' > export (name of league) stats. |
