At work, I am in charge of I.T. - sort of. I supervise the consultants who know the nuts and bolts. When somebody is wowed by some technical thing that I show them, they sometimes say, "Gee, you know a lot about I.T., huh?" Whereupon I say, "Not really. I know enough about I.T. to know how much I don't know about I.T."

Where in the heck am I going with this? Well, it comes to mind as I contemplate the fact that, despite being a baseball fan for generations, and having haunted the Internet for the this past generation, I knew nothing about The Hardball Times until now. What a great site! Where have I been that I have not seen this enjoyable resource before?

So, here's an indication of me now knowing enough about Baseball and the Internet to know how much I don't know about Baseball and the Internet. Thanks for enlightening me.

My only enemy? Time. I hate time. The lack of it and how quickly it goes.

There's been an uptick in lobbying for national online sales tax legislation that would try to standardize all of this by giving states more power to collect sales taxes from out-of-state residents, though prospects in 2015 aren't great. Even so, the good old days of not paying tax on most online purchases are pretty much over.

Tell you one thing that's good about this. For a number of years, New York State's tax return would ask you to voluntarily declare an estimated sales tax on online purchases and, like a good-natured dummy, er, like a good citizen, I did so. Now that I see sales tax on many more of my online purchases these days, I no longer am so nice.

Holy smokes. I looked it up - Carter played 3B only three times in his entire MLB career (this was the second time). See how he played there in this game. My gosh, he looked like he'd been playing 3B all along.

He was some ballplayer.

I keep counting the days as well and also looking forward to the Android version of the game as well now I can keep playing when I have a break at work or when im bored away from PC or laptop. Also trying to finish out my season before OOTP16 comes out and I should make it.
