Will there be a Veterans Committee?

With the new HOF voting system I'm wondering if there will be ever a Veterens Commity to give that player 1 last shot at immortality. I also mention this because I started my league with 10 years then player inducted to HOF but when I changed in to 5 years a few of players never got inducted. I have Inducted a few but others I'm not to sure about so I would like to think I'm not biased and have the game give them a shot, with the way HOF looks setup could this become a option?

Sorry, no Veterans committee.

When you first convert a league over, if you have it set to wait 5 years until induction, and have guys stay on the ballot for 10 years, then year 1 you will have anyone who retired in those 15 years on the ballot the first time. So if it was recent that you did that switch over, then a few of the guys missed will show up on the ballot. They may not have their full 10 years of eligibility in the new game, but they'll get at least one shot to make it in.

Thanks for response Matt, YA I was figureing it might not be a thing but that 15 years thing is cool. It isn't a recent thing but there are some fringe great players that I think belog in that have retired so really cool. Will probly just unretire then retire anyone I think needs a shot that didn't get one that would work right?

No, I actually look at the last time the player played in the league, not their retirement date (mostly as I was testing, I noticed that Pedro Martinez' official retirement date wasn't until a year after he last played in MLB, and according to current HOF criteria, "last played in league" is used, not official retirement date).

You can change the years on ballot to up to 20, so that would give you anyone within the last 25 years would get a shot. And otherwise, we list the HOF criteria for all retired players, so if you can always investigate the criteria for each guy and get a better idea whether you feel they're "deserving" or not, and induct them manually or not.

According to OOTP itself, OOTP MLB play (modern and historical) outnumbers OOTP fictional play three to one.

Five thousand thanks for a non-modder? I never thought I'd see the day. Thank you for your support.
