I Fear the 3D!

No real mention of the 3D in any RtR posts. I'm guessing it still sucks, just less than it did (when it was virtually unplayable).

Hope I'm wrong!

And you would guess wrong. While it is not something I will probably play with as I have just grown accustomed to my ballpark photos, I did play around with it quite a bit during Beta testing.

All 30 stadiums are included and look pretty awesome, the ball size is adjustable which was a biggie for me. Last year following that little dot was next to impossibe, not so now. Player pictures show on the field now also.

Overall it is 100% ahead of last year and is a solid foundation to keep adding too.

Keep in mind Markus hired Jorin to do 3D work and the results are great

Really hoping this is so. Would like the option of playing in 3D but, last year, it was just impossible.

Not to fear. Markus stated elsewhere that hundreds of hours were devoted to creating and optimizing all 30 MLB parks, so I wouldn't worry about their functionality in the game.

What I am worried about is my own inability to create fictional 3D ballparks to add to the game if I opt to expand my league. Right now, it's easy to add fictional ballparks to the game when you're only using static images. However, once I get hooked on using the 3D ballparks in the game, I probably won't want to return to mere static images. Since I lack any/all programming and artistic ability, I'll certainly be hoping that this is one area where our already vibrant and creative mod community comes through big time for the infinitely less gifted members here, like me.

Well, 3D is much better - playable now and you can actually see the ball!

Still, I guess I just don't care for it. I wish the player names would stay on the field as the ball is in play. I'm thinking that's the killer for me but I'm not sure since there's not a way to make them stay to test that theory.

Ah, well.

I too wish the player names would stay on the field. Although, I admit that I too am not sure since I've not seen it this way. I'll log this suggestion in the hopes that it might get added as an option.

Instantly created error and closed out as soon as I tried 3D.. Maybe its my computer? Same thing happened last year too.

The fact that Markus has mentioned historical 3D ballparks in ootp 17 has me excited for next year already haha.
