Foreign Players Limit

Just wondering if anyone has added this during a career into a league and what kind of impact it has to teams who are already over the new allowance.

The reason this has come up is I am running a game with every league in it, MLB, International and Independent. I imported it over from 15 after just 1 year and off season (imported it during spring training and all went fine). Anyway as there are now so many leagues it's resulted in quite a lot of free agents from the USA being signed up by Mexican teams (the league in which I'm managing) and I have also done this too. Mostly AAA free agents but a few players in their late 30's have been signed having played ML last year. One of the teams has even picked up a 40yr old Derek Jeter on a year contract for 1.6m. However I've got to thinking maybe I should introduce a foreign player limit otherwise the Mexican players may become the minority.

So that's why I'm thinking of adding it but I wonder if anyone has done this and what effects it has on those AI teams over the limit. Do they just trade them all away or will they release them to FA and leave themselves having to pick up scrubs to fill their rosters? I obviously would introduce it at the end of the season so the AI has time to change things up but I'm wondering how it will handle it. Anyone have experience of this?

During the season the teams adjust to that new change but most of it happens during the off-season they will not re-sign certain players release some players and in some cases trade some players but again most of that will be done during the off-season. FYI in real life the mexican league does have a foreign players limit of five

Thanks. I'll use the real life limit of 5 then when I change it. Actually I wonder if that is set in OOTP 16 as like I said this is imported from 15 and it was set at no limit.

Now I'm wondering whether to re-import and set it straight away as I'm only 9 games in. Problem is I'm 7-2

and after last seasons woeful 39-74 that's real progress!

I think it would be best though as every team is way over that now I think, I know I am as I now have 6 from the US and about 5 Dominican Republic pitchers as well.

Oh by the way good question if the 5 limit is already set on OOTP 16 that I don't know since imported mine and I already had mine set to 5

Just checked on a new game and it is set at No Limit still.

I'm playing as Mexico Diablo Rojos. My pitching was awful last season and I lost a couple of my best players at the same time for a 20-30 game stretch mid season.

Just had a look through all the teams and Monclova have just two Mexicans left on their active roster! Most have over 10 foreigners.

Hmm, definitely going to have to either re import or I might just start again from OOTP16. I'd only played a season so it's not a big deal. Although I just noticed that Luis Terrero is no longer with Mexico in OOTP16 and he was my best player last season, that's going to be a big loss!

That's a coincidence! I see it says you live there now, are they your adopted team now?

I think I'm going to bite the bullet and start again on 16 and take on Manager mode only as well. After setting the limit to 5 foreigners!

Your right I completly forgot they UPed it by one this season. I remember it was on the spanish sports news.
