Curt Blefary
I think that both of these photos show Curt with the Greensboro Yankees of the Carolina League. I'm sure that the one on the right does. The one on the left contains the same pinstripes. The one on the left is from the Richmond (VA) Times-Dispatch of June 14, 1964. The one on the right is from the Greensboro (NC) Daily News of April 30, 1963.

Photo removed because I had chosen the wrong face out of the team photo. For the correct shot of Frank Robinson, please see Merkle's posting on the following page: https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...16619&page=158 Last edited by Cusick; 11-01-2019 at 08:09 AM. Reason: Remove photo. |

Here are some not-quite-minor-league photos of 1960s Orioles Hall of Famers: Luis Aparicio with his father's ca. 1950s Gavilanes club of the Venezuelan League, Robin Roberts with Michigan State University in 1948 and Dick Williams with Almendares, also in 1948.

Another Hall of Famer who played briefly for the Orioles in the 1960s: Hoyt Wilhelm, with the 1947 Moorsville Moors and 1950 Minneapolis Millers.

It was the 1966 team that led the IL. Here are some 1966 Red Wings who never made it to the Majors: Harley C. Anderson, Paul Knechtges, John E. Mason, Larry Rojas & Johnny Scruggs.

Woody Held: I was a teenage batboy
Woody Held had a pretty fair career. Not as good as advertised when he first came up through the Yankee chain but pretty good. Here he is in 1947 when he was bat boy for the hometown Pacific Coast League Sacramento Solons.
