Locker

Hey thanks for the Locker photo. Where did you get it...from the big giant photo listing or the updated daily Topps Vault??? I've been following the daily one about everyday but I didn't see it. It looks almost like 2 different unis...the 1971 jersey and pants and the 1972 cap because the 1971 one looked like a off-orange visor instead of the golden yellow one from 1972+.

Thanks,

BRobby05

It was sold on eBay as a 1972 image. Went for $11.50.

Locker Year

Your surmise on the A's unis in Spring Training 1972 is correct - new caps, old shirts and pants. All Topps' images from the A's that year look

Not an uncommon thing, especially in the '60s and '70s. The Braves, for instance, wore their 1971 traditional gray uniforms but their new multi-colored small "a" cap in Spring Training 1972.

1971/1972 Bob Locker

Hey Fellas,

Thanks for the insite there. For my 1971 MVP season, I used Paint Shop Pro and made the visor the same shade as the orange trim on the jersey to make it look right for the 1971 ones. He did have a little longer hair in 1971 from 1970.

Merkle another proof is that the guys didn't grow their mustaches until Charlie Finley's "Mustache Day" at the stadium early in 1972...then most kept them and a few shaved them off, then the bonus for them, and the rest is history. They did have the 2-tone cap in 1971...you're thinking of 1970.

Thanks again,

BRobby05

Speaking of Mr Locker,

I was curious if this great forum had any options for him when he closed out his career in '75 with the Cubbies? I have these two that I could apply but would still prefer something "better" and in color. (courtesy of Jewel Foods and ebay - allstarjef4ydp)

Lastly, Braves70 helped me with a Locker in what I presume was in the '72 A's unis which is what I am searching for an upgrade on. Color with a hat would be preferred...

In fact if somehow I missed him as part of a Topps Vault offering for either needed request, well that would be a game winning hit on a business person special! Thanks all!

Cecil Upshaw - Braves - circa 1972

I list him as a white whale and then he appears on the T.V. folders a week later..... I'll take it. I almost accept that he appeared in the folders right after they skipped Tom Underwood of the Cards as part of the 'U' section. Oh well....

And I'm pretty sure a wise man told me they saw the proof of Cecil in these specific unis. Glad to see they finally have risen from the depths....

What Is This, "Beetlejuice?"

Obscure ex-Met minor league outfielder Randy Trapp (spring training 1976-77) is invoked on this board...

http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar...ml#post3843778

...and today he shows up on the Topps Vault hosting site?

(Please. Don't anybody say "let's try this with Tom Underwood with the Cardinals")

Thanks to rb77 for that wonderful shot of Mickey Livingston.(Previous Page - section 25077). It's much better than the (portrait) one I had of him.
I have an action shot of Livingston on a tag play at the plate somewhere. If I can locate it, I'll post it.

Walt Terrell - New York Mets

1. Ed Lynch
2. Scott Holman

I am looking for the following players in the 1982 uniform:
1. Joel Youngblood (prior to his trade late that season to Montreal)
2. Tom Hausman (prior to his trade late that season to Atlanta)
3. Phil Mankowski (got into a few games that year--all the Mets pictures I have seen so far show him in the earlier uniform)
4. Tom Gorman (if it is DEFINITELY from the '82 or '83 seasons)
5. Ronn Reynolds (if it is DEFINITELY from the '82 season, his debut year)

Photos that have not appeared in major card issues are what I am looking for. Thanks a lot as always, guys.

[PS: Walt Terrell should be added, if the shot is DEFINITELY from the '82 or '83 seasons. Thanks.]
This is from the 1983 yearbook, so the picture is definitely from 1982 or 1983.
