Can we do league of different countries?
Just wondering if we can do a league yet consisting of different countries where each player on each team is actually from that country? I'm pretty sure we never could before just wanted to make sure that on ootp16 there wasn't a way to form one of those this time around????
Thanks! |

Yes, you could do that in the past and can still do so.

You can do pretty much what ever your heart desires as long as your heart does not desire woman's baseball

I never knew that, or I should say in the past I couldn't figure it out so figured I couldn't.. how on earth do you do it? Like, to make an easy example, say its a league of 6 teams with 6 different countries.. how do I start out where Japan has all Japan players starting out, all Canada players for Canada, etc etc??? This must be something super easy that I just stupidly never realized haha but if you could just let me know real quick that would be AWESOMEEEE... thanks again guys!

I have an international league with teams from all over the world, except the US. Then I have an imported MLB. Together they are associated in a Pro Baseball Association.
When I set up the international league (World Baseball League), I chose the countries and then worked to pick cities from those countries that were big enough to support a baseball team of MLB worth. It was fun setting it up. Since I have spent time traveling the world over the years, it was fun to establish teams in large cities that I spent time in. In that world, I manage the Athletics in the MLB, and a UK team in the WBL. At the end of the MLB world series, the top MLB team plays the top WBL team. Last year I ran through, I ended up having my two teams play each other. First time that happened after 4 years. Not looking like it will happen the current year I am running, since my UK team has had some injuries and lost two good players due to retirement at the end of the previous years series. |

sounds like a lot of fun! Man I suck, I didn't know you could do this stuff, I've tried to do it before but apparently gave up to easy cuz I never figured it out. I definitely had no idea you could put a champion from one league against a champion from another league.
I guess I need to go into the fictional wizard and try to figure out how to do this country thing now that I know it is possible... Thanks for your help and input I appreciate it everyone |

I got a follow up question though, say after the first season, how do you prevent players from other countries joining another country that they're not from???? Whether its a country signing a FA from another country or something like that, how is that prevented?? Thanks!

I set up my old fictional league that way, but moved away from that format as it expanded over the years.

League settings - Rules. Forgot if this works for a MLB league but it should.

Serious the game comes close to 19th century results despite it being more like fast pitch softball if the league totals are right. So I think you could even do this!

You could always add a female nameset, too. You'd just still get a lot of "he/him" references everywhere. |

Sigging this. So true. And irritating, especially for some of these mods that imply it would sort of be there.
