Non-catcher Catching Question

So I'm sort of cheating as I'm using Joe Mauer at catcher in NL games (no DH). I'm wondering if the fact that he has no ability as a catcher is affecting the pitchers. Like, does a player with no rating at catcher negatively influence the pitcher?

I believe it's been stated that pitch framing is included in a catcher's Catching Ability Rating. Playing a non-catcher (or one without any Catching Ability) would presumably result in really poor pitch framing, which would affect the pitcher in terms of balls and strikes.
